Committee Reports:
Membership: Teresa Melonson: New member, Kathy Wilson was
introduced to the group. Kathy enjoys modern and traditional quilts and
is a fan of Tula Pink. She shared to of her lovely quilts – Storm at Sea
and Beautiful Radiance. We also welcomed a guest, Nola Lynn who is
new to Greenville from Southern California.
Treasurer: Dawn Holter : Dawn provided a run down on what items were
paid this month, including $1,122 to the Modern Quilt Guild for our share of
membership. After this month’s expenses, we have $6,850 on hand.
Philanthropy: Diane Kent – Diane provided an update on the two
agencies that we provide quilts for: Nurse Family Partnership and Quilts for Kids. Tummy Time should be 40” x 40” while Quilts for Kids can be larger, up to 40” x 50”. She added that all should be made with new fabric, no glitter, and to check the fabric for any color bleeding. Quilts should be washed only if they have been exposed to pets. Each organization would like 10 quilts each quarter. Diane has prepared precut kits along with a pattern that includes a 16” center, making them quick to produce. She reviewed the pattern. (A copy of which is shared with these minutes). Finished quilts can be brought each month and Diane will collect them for distribution quarterly.
